Ben Sampson Headshot

Hey, I'm Ben!

I build, buy, and invest in businesses.

I've had 2 successful exits. Way more failures.

I write about building Freedom Companies to achieve what I call the three freedoms:

A life of financial freedom.
A life of time freedom.
A life of creative freedom.

I send one action packed email a week called a 1x1x1 where I write about businesses and people that I think are inspirational when it comes to creating freedom in their lives, or updates on the businesses we're building and buying.

This newsletter is the highlight of my week and I hope I can inspire and guide you to building your own freedom company.

Ben's 1x1x1 - April 5, 2024 🚀

For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1.

One learning, reminder, or interesting item from my week.
One interesting find/tool from my week.
One image from my life.

Let's dive in 👇

Learning/reminder of the week

Finding the one metric that matters.

It's easy to get overwhelmed with data. Number of leads, top line revenue, how many beers are left in the office fridge. The list goes on and on.

What has happened to me in the past is that I wind up spreading myself thin looking at huge dashboards and not focusing on the one metric that really matters.

And not just the one metric for your business, but even the one metric for your life.

This year, I've worked hard to stay laser focused on one singular metric that I update in an Apple note.

I call it my Freedom Number.

Not only does it help me focus on building the right business, it helps me build the life I want as well.

What is your singular metric that you should be tracking every day?

Interesting find/tool of the week

I've been running a ton of Facebook Ads recently for a couple of businesses and getting half decent results.

What I recently discovered though is that Meta maintains an ad library of every ad running on its platforms. This is insanely helpful!

For example, before running my ads I go and see if and how my competitors are running their ads. Gives me tons of ideas to test!

Image from my life

On Tuesday it was 72 degrees. On Thursday, it snowed. Have to love spring!

See you all next week!
