We went to visit Bob's Red Mill! Yup - the oatmeal and flour company.

We're those people buying oatmeal and flour in bulk. Officially ready for a future zombie apocalypse... you all can stay at our place.

As many of you know, when I tour a cool business like this, I have to share a few of my favorite learnings with you all 👇

1. Bob Moore, the founder, gave the company to his employees on his 81st birthday. Yup, the whole thing. It’s 100% employee-owned.
2. They started with one millstone in 1978. Today, they dominate the natural food aisles with everything from oats to pancake mix.
3. Gluten-free before it was cool. They built a dedicated GF facility in the 90s. Waaaay ahead of the trend.
4. The mill still operates on stone grinding! Bob’s keeps it old school to preserve nutrients and flavor.
5. Revenue? Over $200M/year. Growth? Strong and steady, riding the wave of health-conscious eating habits.

Employee-owned, mission-driven, and crushing it in a market they helped create.

Bob’s Red Mill is proof that staying authentic and profitable isn’t just possible, it’s a winning formula.

P.S. I literally wrote this right after crushing a bowl of their protein oats. So good!
