You pushed out to the world ๐ - Ben's 1x1x1 - November 8, 2024 ๐
For those of you that are new here, every week I send what I call a 1x1x1. โ One thought from my week. One interesting find/tool from my week. One image from my life.
Let's dive in ๐
Thought from the week
Two nights ago, Iโm at a family dinner, grinding through the usual โhowโs lifeโ snoozefest. Howโs your blind dog doing? Got that ankle surgery yet? The usual.
Then I catch a glimpse of my introverted cousin-in-law across the table, huddled over his plate of spaghetti.
He looksโฆ excited.
For him, this is rare.
Heโs mid-sentence, totally fired up about something I know nothing about.
Anime.
I love seeing people get fired up about a topic, even if I know absolutely nothing about it.
As per usual, I dove in with an artillery strike of questions about this interest.
Turns out, for years he's been working on a side project called Anime Trending.
He absolutely loves it. Zero goals. Pure passion.
This little side project is actually a decent business with a huge following raking in 700,000 visitors a day to the site with an audience of over 1 million people.
To my cousin in law though, this was no business.
It was just a bit of himself pushed out to the world.
I love these kinds of stories. I think about it a lot actually.
The best businesses arenโt always born from some big grand plan or million-dollar spreadsheet.
Sometimes, they just start with you, pushing yourself out into the world.
So hereโs the question I think we should all ask ourselves: What would you build if it was just you, pushed out into the world?
Interesting find/tool of the week
Nothing interesting enough to report this week!
Image from my life
This past week was all about seeing the great grand parents! 100% worth the 20 hours of car time driving around the PNW to visit family.
